Independent buyer
Sell Your Platinum in South Africa
Platinum is not white gold, and it is not priced as if it were. We buy platinum jewellery and coins, tested and weighed in front of you, with an offer that reflects platinum’s own market — not a gold rate with a guess attached.
What shapes the offer
- Completeness
- Box, papers, extra links and original parts support a stronger offer.
- Condition
- Wear, polishing, damage and replacement parts are priced in the open.
- Service history
- A recent service helps. An independent service does not disqualify the piece.
- The piece itself
- Reference, metal, movement and stones — assessed in person, not from a list.
Questions we are asked
- How do you tell platinum from white gold?
- Hallmarks, acid tests and specific gravity. White gold is usually stamped 18ct or 750 and is often rhodium-plated; platinum is typically stamped Pt, Plat or 950.
- Do you buy broken platinum chains or worn rings?
- Yes. Condition matters less for melt-value platinum than it does for a signed watch. Bring the pieces as they are.
- Is platinum always worth more than gold?
- Not always. The two metals move on different markets. We price the piece you bring against today’s platinum, not against a rule of thumb.
- Can I get paid the same day?
- Yes, once you accept the offer. There is no obligation to sell.
